The discovery that H. pylori infection leads to serious stomach problems enabled two scientists to win the Nobel prize for their breakthrough research.^1-3

Perhaps even more meaningful, it was found that eradication of H. pylori can relieve symptoms of stomach distress, including gastritis, and prevent cancer.⁴

The ulcer-inducing bacteria H. pylori is now believed to affect up to 40% of Americans.⁵
